Guest Speaker - Erik Hanberg

Erik Hanberg - Guest Speaker

Recently, we were introduced the Entrepreneurship lifestyle by our university class guest speaker, Erik Hanberg. He gave many pointers on what to watch and look out for in your experience of becoming an entrepreneur.

Some of the key points I found from the lecture were:

·         Be a starter – seeing something completely through

·         Shipping – did you actually get your product out the door

·         Everyone has ideas – The work is the work to get yours out there

·         Enjoy the work – The Rewards Are Uncertain

A great quote from Thomas Edison, “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.”

He also mentioned two kinds of work. The kind that you Sell Your Time and Sell Something Else, which has the possibility of a long-term value. All pieces discussed created new perspectives for what sort of entrepreneurship lifestyle outlook a person may have. Choosing the lifestyle isn’t an easy task, however it can certainly be a rewarding one. I understood that it is best to just start with an idea, run with it, and find out where it leads you, very intriguing, hope to learn more.
